lovely

I love how you managed to really make it emerge out of the darkness.. Nice work on the squinty eyes/nose too. two points of critique though:
1] It would have been nice if the black spot was a bit broader at the bottom (so that it was more or less a rounded rectangle)
2] Especially on the bottom jaw, It has some problems with shading... it seems to curve inwards instead of outwards. I think this is mostly due to the big fully white areas.
Overall great work!

and how!

nice work chomper! the claws could have been a bit less boneless for my taste, but I guess thats your call. otherwise great!

TheChomper responds:

Aw, thanks a lot! :D

Hwey, I won the last cow...
the desert one... I won that one..

Didn't remember! Just listed the 5 that I do.

It aint all that bad

Seriously, you took a hellova hard subject to draw... what with all the folds in the robe, bones are way harder than youd think too....
it couldve benefited from a bit more effort in the anatomy (his torso is too tall, arms bend weirdly).
It would have been cool to actually see his hand, but I guess sceletal hands are a p in the a to draw.
the scythe blade is a tad big for my taste.

Id suggest taking an easier subject if your going to practice these things.
Just practice one thing at a time. e.g. by making grayscale drawings... that way you wont have to bother with color.

Daverom responds:

Bones=bitch
Folds=bitch
Hands, let alone skeleton hands=bitch
Yeah I definitely go quite a bit over my head when it comes to painting, which is why I continue to never do it. Gonna try some grayscale for sure next time.

Love it

I absolutely love this piece, beautifull imagery, and skillfully executed.
Some points of critique concerning the hands though;
his left wrist could maybe use some more definition (im not an expert on anatomy, but it looks a bit swollen to me at the moment)
His right hand seems to have two thumbs..?
The "black" areas could be a bit more evenly colored (or rather, in the same direction). there are some areas where its almost about to get messy.

Ne7ers responds:

Well spotted! I noticed the two thumbs the other night and was hoping no one else would manage to pick it out. The only explanation i can give for this is that when i was piecing together the bits of paper i must have overlooked the alignment, resulting in two thumbs. I hate to dwell on images too long but i might have to do something with it in photoshop if it annoys me too much.

I usually keep all of my work very tight, so much so that i was starting to get bored and dread creating some of my ideas just because of the complexity, so this is a stab at a new style, and in some parts i have purposely aimed to be loose and messy, with tighter areas to pull things together.

And finally, that right arm... I noticed something slightly wrong with it from the first draught sketch, i took the whole ''ill fix it later'' approach. What a pain in the ass its been.

dont we all

You pulled a mindchamber on the coffee machine though

Snowman responds:

i did huh? hows?

Seriously?

I can so see this hanging on my wall on a square meter canvas...

that`d be awesome.
fav`d

Gotta love it

Great job on the colouring Doodoo!

Beautifully done

Not only is this very well done (you can see the crinkles in the bag, and they all make sense), its also interesting to look at. The great colors combined with the "out-of-the ordinary" subject, makes this a very solid piece all in all.
I just wished you had a somewhat bigger picture/scan...

dreamzmighty responds:

I'm glad you like it! I actually have a bigger picture of it somewhere... I could post it. (: Anyways. I am very glad you like it. Thank you!
